Yoga is well known as a doorway to opening energy in the body. Through the practice of asana and pranayama (breathing techniques) the blockages that inhibit the free-flow of prana, or vital life force energy, begin to melt away. "Any reason

of peace, harmony, laughter, and love." Darcy Lubbers' yoga classes beautifully integrate the physical, mental, and transformational qualities of yoga. Attention is given to strengthening the body, increasing stamina and flexibility, balancing the emotions, and also calming the mind. Close attention is paid to alignment, form, and breath. By including breath awareness techniques, the practice of taking full, deep breaths is encouraged, enabling each person to fully connect to their emotions, mind and body, and ultimately to experience a deeper sense of peace and presence. Darcy has been practicing yoga for most of her life, and has trained over the last twenty years with a number of yoga teachers in the Los Angeles area. In 2005 she completed her Yoga Teacher Certification with Saul David Raye, and taught at Shakti's Elements Studio in Santa Monica. In addition to leading the yoga for the community meditation group in Santa Monica, Darcy is currently instructing yoga as a healing modality in her workshops, including Creating Health, and Art and Soul. She is also available for individual consultation regarding yoga for emotional/ spiritual issues as part of her private practice.
