to
give voice, form, and movement to your inner discoveries.
Creative Pathways is an eight week program designed to facilitate a deeper
connection with your creativity. Artists and non-artists alike are invited
to participate.
Darcy
Lubbers, MFT, ATR-BC is a pioneer in the field of creativity and mind
body medicine. She is an author, consultant, and international workshop
leader, with over 20 years in the field. She currently facilitates the
Art Therapy program at Bridges
to Recovery
in Pacific Palisades, CA, and also maintains a private practice as a Marriage
and Family Therapist and Clinical Art Therapist.
Ms.
Lubbers' extensive training includes the modalities of Clinical
Hypnosis, Guided Imagery, Meditation, Structural Bodywork (Hellerwork),
Yoga, and Ayurveda. Her own personal artistic pursuits are in the areas
of the visual arts, and writing.
Ms. Lubbers' publishing credits include Adult Art Psychotherapy:
Issues and Applications, along with articles in Whole Life Times Magazine,
Beginnings Magazine (AHNA), the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance
Magazine (DBSA), and B'Sherit Integrative Oncology Services Newsletter.
By participating in the Creative Pathways program, you will have the opportunity
to:
Release
blocks that stand in the way of greater artistic and life fulfillment.
Learn how to give voice, form and movement to your
inner discoveries.
Experience greater levels of fulfillment in your
life through the full expression of your creative energy.
During the eight
weeks of this program participants will be encouraged to choose a
creative project to work on which they will be mentored through. It isn't
necessary to identify a project before enrolling, however if you have
a desire to tap into your right brain, or there is a project or an area
of creative expression in your life that you have been wishing to explore
and putting off, this is the program for you!
A project may be chosen in any area self expression, including
the visual arts, dramatic arts, music, dance and martial arts, or narrative,
fictional or poetic writing, Or it may a project that is connected to
leading a more creative life.
This is both
a process group and an experiential group, with
specially designed individual and group exercises to assist you in opening
up to your wellspring of creative energy.
Week 1: Introduction to Creativity
How do we access it, and why do we want to? How
does enhancing our creativity enrich our life? How does our perception
of who we are shape our relationship to creating in our lives?
Week 2: Enhancing Creativity Through Mindfulness
Mindfulness: How does being present in the moment enhance your creativity?
Week 3: Exploring Creative Blocks
How do creative blocks occur on physical, emotional/mental, spiritual
levels? Explore your "Inner" and "Outer" Critics:
Identify thought patterns, beliefs and relationships that no longer support
your creativity.
Week 4: Creativity
and Health
How are creativity and health related? Explore life's balance.
Week 5: Cultivation
of Creative Energy
Clearing the way for the cultivation of creative energy.
Week 6: Deepening the Shift
Deepening the shift: Access the wisdom of life's events for greater wholeness.
Week 7: The Role of Sensory Awareness
Enhance creativity through sensory awareness: Experience the role of taste,
hearing, sight, smell, and touch.
Week 8: Embracing Wholeness
Embracing your wholeness: Creating Mandalas

to Health Care Professionals
Currently, continuing
education contact hours and credit are granted for Marriage and Family
Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Registered Nurses, in
California, for participation in the
Creative Pathways program.
